Diane Firtell uses her camera, now mostly her iPhone, to capture the ever changing beauty of the environment in which she lives whether it be NYC or currently The Berkshires. While her subject matter has for most of her career remained the same (flowers can be found in her earliest work from her student days at the School of Visual Art and now the landscape since moving to the Berkshires 27 years ago), she is always looking to express herself in different ways and enjoys experimenting with new mediums and techniques. She is a current faculty member at the Berkshire Art School (formerly IS183 Art School of the Berkshires) and it is her passion to assist her students so that they can bring forth their talents and forge their own path through their creative expression. Diane’s images and the energy behind them can be found in the forms of and translated to notecards, paintings, digital collages, jewelry and decorative art.
